MEAD MAKER NOTES
" Caribeño is a celebration of the popular flavors of the Costa Rican Atlantic coast. The recipe was inspired by a popular drink in the Caribbean called "agua e sapo" (which roughly translates to Toad's Water). Caribeño merges traditional corn chicha, mead, and "agua e sapo", resulting in an intense drink in flavor and aroma, but very refreshing, light and extremely easy to drink, with intense notes of citrus, honey and ginger. Caribeño is very special to us because it is one of the first drinks in which we use our Costa Rica criollo corn malt in our brewing. " - Alejandra Araya

Featuring CARIBEÑO in a "mule" cocktail
The Tico Mule used CARIBEÑO instead of ginger beer in a classic cocktail along with guaro and local limes.

FAQs ABOUT CARIBEÑO
4–7°C (40–45°F)
Due to its light body, and mouthfeel, Caribeño is best enjoyed in this temperature range.

Given Caribeño's unique profile as a sparkling, flavorful mead, with notes of ginger and citrus, the following types of glassware would be ideal:
Tulip Glass: The tulip shape is excellent for capturing and enhancing the aroma of ginger and spice, while the slightly flared rim makes it easy to enjoy the sparkling and citrus aspects. It is a versatile choice that accentuates the complex aromas and flavors of Caribeño.
Flute Glass: If you want to emphasize the sparkling nature of Caribeño, a flute glass is a great choice. It will help preserve the carbonation and present the color and clarity of the mead beautifully, still allowing the ginger and citrus aromas to come through.
White Wine Glass: A standard white wine glass can also be a good option, especially for those who prefer a more traditional wine tasting experience. It is suitable for appreciating the semi-sweet flavor profile and aromatic intensity of mead.
Each of these types of glassware offers a different aspect of the Caribeño experience, from highlighting its aromatic complexity to enhancing its sparkling qualities. Depending on what you enjoy most about this mead, you might choose one type of glass over the others.

CARIBEÑO should be kept in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The ideal storage temperature is between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. It is also important to keep the bottle upright to avoid prolonged contact of the liquid with the cork or cap, which could affect its flavor.
The shelf life of CARIBEÑO, like that of many sparkling meads, may vary depending on storage conditions. In general, it is recommended to consume CARIBEÑO within 6 to 9 months after bottling to enjoy its freshness and optimal characteristics. Although it can be consumed after this period, some of its fresh and spicy notes may fade over time.
