Incredible time at the Costa Rica Meadery garden tour and tasting

My husband and I had an incredible time at the Costa Rica Meadery garden tour and tasting led by the charismatic owner, Michael. The meads and beers brewed by his wife, Alejandra were a delightful and unique blend of flavors, We enjoyed every sip! During the tour, we also got to taste some of the raw ingredients, including a few we never heard of before. The farm's restaurant served a delicious lunch with beautiful views, completing a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. It’s a great way to spend a good part of the day while in the San Jose area! Highly recommend!

5 stars isn’t enough !

Alejandra and Michael(the owners) are extremely professional and listening to Alejandra’s passion for making mead and the surrounding plants/trees make the tour fascinating enough to warrant a visit on its’ own.

The tour consisted of about an hour of viewing the property with Alejandra while she explains all the fruit and plants they infuse with their drinks, as well as a few they would like to try in the future. You are even encouraged to try some of these fruits and leaves which were all amazing or very fun flavors to try for the first time for us.

The meads themselves are unlike any other I’ve tried back in the states, including the imported ones for Europe. It was truly a unique experience and we were blown away with the flavor profiles of each mead.

The restaurant on property was fantastic as well, and was included in our tour which consisted of a 6-course style of farm-to-table food grown on property and the drinks made by the meadery are of course available here as well.

Things to note:

English-only speakers are welcome here and there is no language barrier as the owners both speak perfect English.

Wear comfy shoes as there is plenty of walking on the outside tour, including inclines and steps.

All facilities were clean and the grounds were well-kept.

Thank you Alé and Michael for the experience. Kelly and I loved spending part of our vacation here and listening to your story. 5 stars isn’t enough !

Jared... Thanks for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and thorough review. Alejandra and I enjoyed our time with you and Kelly. Very glad that you enjoyed the mead tasting, farm tour, and lunch at the restaurant!

Romantic and beautiful meadery.

This is by far the best part of my trip. The property is breathtaking. The food at the restaurant was phenomenal. The mead, wine and beer were delicious. Watching the rain on the back terrace while eating and drinking is one of my favorite memories of my trip. I wish the owners much success! Amazing!!

Wow! Great to hear that we were among your favorite experiences during your trip to Costa Rica!!! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour, tasting , and lunch.
