Amazing Experience

Wow!!! We had an amazing tour with Alejandra at the Botanical Gardens and Meadery. Her knowledge and passion are unsurpassed. We learned so much from her about the edible plants and the unique meads and beers created there. Each and every beer and mead that we tasted was unique and wonderful! We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Costa Rica!

It was a pleasure sharing our passion with you, and your words truly mean a lot to us. We hope you'll visit again next time you're in Costa Rica!

Once in a lifetime

This experience was a total gem: one of the absolute highlights of my time in Costa Rica. Led by the knowledgeable Alejandra, the evening was not just a tasting, but a cultural deep dive into locally made hydromiel (mead) and craft beer you won’t find anywhere else. Alejandra was the perfect guide: warm, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made everyone feel instantly at home, and you could tell she genuinely loves sharing the flavors and stories of her country. The hydromiel was a total surprise: light, complex, and beautifully crafted with local honey and ingredients like hibiscus and tropical spices. What really stood out was the atmosphere Alejandra created. It felt more like a gathering with new friends than a tour. She made space for questions, laughter, and connection, all while showcasing Costa Rica’s exciting and growing craft movement.

Hi Eric, Wow—thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really happy to hear that the experience was a highlight of your trip. It was a joy to share our meads, beers, and stories with you, and even more special to see how much you connected with everything. I truly love what I do, and it means a lot when guests feel that. Hope to see you again one day! Alejandra Co-owner, Costa Rica Meadery

Fantastic private tour

We were fortunate to be the only 2 on our tour. Once we arrived we were greeted with a very warm welcome from Alejandra and Michael. They made sure to give us water and checked we were OK for suncream and bug replant. The tour was amazing! We learnt so much about the local plants and fruits. We were lucky and surprised to try so many different fruits! Was amazing! Then we proceed to taste the incredible meadery. Alejandra was very informative and passionate about the mead. It all tasted amazing!
